Founded in 2017, we provide free, styled clothing, essential items, and curated care packages to families facing crisis, young people in transition, and neighbors navigating financial hardship; restoring not just wardrobes, but confidence, agency, and everyday dignity.
As a Black woman-founded 501(c)(3) nonprofit, Well Cloth'd is built on the belief that clothing equity is community resilience. We transform donated clothing into personalized support, ensure every recipient feels seen, respected, and cared for.
Powered by a diverse volunteer team and grounded in sustainability, we divert thousands of pounds of clothing from landfills each year, turning what might have been discarded into tool for empowerment, self-expression, and stability.
Through pop-up boutiques, care-package builds, and strategic partnerships, Well Cloth'd is creating accessible, judgement-free spaces where anyone can get what they need with pride intact.
Because clothing is never "just clothing", it's belonging, opportunity, and the confidence to step into what's next.
Who We Are
Well Cloth'd is a Black women-founded, Brooklyn-based, 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to take the mystery out of donating. By connecting generous individuals to in-need populations, Well Cloth’d ensures recipients receive high-quality donations in two ways. We organize quarterly free pop-up shops and create personalized care packages tailored to meet individual needs.
Our organization’s founders are two lifelong friends, Leetah McGee and Jenne Richardson, who have long had a passion for community service, fashion, and wellness. In the fall of 2017, they began to brainstorm ways to marry these interests and support their community while doing so, and so Well Cloth'd was born. In 2020 the Well Cloth’d team expanded by adding another lifelong friend, Maya Shelton, as the Director of Partnerships.

Well Cloth’d works to empower and support individuals and families in need as they strive to better themselves and their lives. Our mission is to promote compassion, understanding, and total wellness amongst those we serve and our community as a whole.

Ways to Get Involved
Volunteering
Businesses can engage their teams through meaningful volunteer opportunities, and community members are invited to get involved by packing care packages, supporting pop-up events, and participating in hands-on outreach efforts that directly serve our neighbors.
In-Kind Donations
Businesses and brands play a vital role in supporting our community by donating new or surplus products. These in-kind contributions ensure essential goods reach those who need them most, while allowing companies to extend the life of their inventory and advance sustainability goals. Brands can donate unsold, sample, or overstock items and arrange shipment or drop-off with ease.
Community members are just as essential to our work. Individual donations help fill critical gaps, strengthen our collective impact, and ensure our programs remain accessible and responsive to the needs of our neighbors.
Monetary Donations
Companies and the community can contribute financially, helping us fund our programs and services. Donations directly support our community events, operations, and special initiatives.
